Torino vs Sassuolo in Serie A 2026/27

The teams have already met once during the current Serie A campaign. On 29 August 2026, Sassuolo defeated Torino 2-1 at home in a competitive match that remained open until the closing stages.

Cristian Volpato put Sassuolo ahead before Torino responded through Pietro Comuzzo shortly before half-time. Domenico Berardi then came off the bench in the second half and scored the decisive goal, giving Sassuolo the victory.

That result provides a clear storyline for the February return match. Torino will have home advantage this time and the chance to reverse the outcome in front of their own supporters.

Recent Torino vs Sassuolo Matches in Turin

Meetings between these clubs at Torino's stadium have generally produced a competitive record.

Before the 2026/27 season, Torino and Sassuolo had faced each other 15 times in Turin, with the Granata recording eight wins, Sassuolo five and the remaining two ending in draws.

Their previous Serie A meeting at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino came during the 2025/26 campaign. Torino entered that fixture looking to finish the season strongly, while Sassuolo arrived after an important victory over Milan.

There is also some history behind the fixture: Sassuolo's first-ever Serie A match was played away against Torino in August 2013. Torino won that game 2-0, beginning a rivalry that has now been part of several top-flight seasons.

Torino's Home Advantage

Torino play at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, their long-established home in the Santa Rita district of Turin.

The stadium's compact layout keeps supporters relatively close to the pitch and gives Serie A matches a strong local atmosphere. Torino's colours and history are prominent around the ground, while the nearby Filadelfia area remains closely connected with the club's identity.

For travelling supporters, the fixture also offers the opportunity to combine a weekend in Turin with live Italian football. The stadium is located south of the city centre and is accessible by public transport from the main central areas.

Sassuolo Return to Turin

Sassuolo continue to establish themselves as a regular presence in Italy's top division after returning to Serie A. The Neroverdi began their first top-flight era in this very fixture back in 2013 and have since produced several notable results against Torino.

Their victory in the opening meeting of the 2026/27 season showed the attacking threat available to the Emilia-Romagna side, particularly with experienced players such as Berardi capable of influencing matches.

Torino, meanwhile, will be aiming to use their home setting to produce a different result when the sides meet again in February.
